“And the master said to the servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel people to come in, that my house may be filled.” (Luke 14:23)
Shortly after receiving a prophetic dream from the Lord about Firebrand Christian Church in Dublin, Tommy and Brenda Hanrahan (the Eldership couple leading Firebrand Church) invited me over to Ireland to spend some time with themselves and the church there. After praying about it, getting the blessing from my local congregational Elder and one of Four12 apostolic leaders, I felt led by the Holy Spirit to ‘go’ and was then sent off on a fantastic God adventure.
It was clear from the onset that God had an amazing plan in store for our time together but at the same time, the time was not without its challenges. The comforting overriding truth, however, was that God went before us every step of the way and was in every detail, as He always is.
God is using Firebrand Church to reach the lost, broken and hurting in an area of Dublin that has become known for gangsterism, drugs, murders and suicides so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 3:10)
The comforting overriding truth, however, was that God went before us every step of the way and was in every detail, as He always is.
During the two weeks that I was with Firebrand, we saw the Holy Spirit move powerfully. At least 12 people were born again into a relationship with the Lord, many people were tangibly touched by the power of God and a number of people were delivered from demons. It was also encouraging to see prophetic gifts activated and people stepping out in faith, during a time of prophetic training.
It was such a blessing getting to know everyone at Firebrand Christian Church (Four12 Partners) and a huge privilege to be used by Jesus to help equip a church who is hungry for the things of God. I’m so grateful for the love and friendship that the precious people of Firebrand have extended to me and so appreciative of their generosity and kindness, God has knitted our hearts together with His love.
It’s wonderful how God overrides cultures and geography and chose to call me from Cape Town in South Africa, to Dublin in Ireland, to be a part of what He wanted to do in a local church there. My encouragement to all of you is to keep listening for God’s voice, be obedient to what He tells you, and be ready for opportunities to ‘go’- whether that means going next door to your neighbour’s home, to share the love of Jesus with them, or if going means joining one of the Four12 outreaches across the world in 2018. God loves it when we step out in faith and believe He will use us, across borders, nationalities and cultures…into ALL the world, so that His ‘house may be full’.
