Can You Expect Too Much From God?

On a cold Monday morning in June 2016, ten saints from Four12 partnering churches gathered at the Cape Town International Airport, bags packed and hearts full of anticipation for the God encounters awaiting them in Russia. Not even a gruelling 26 hours of travel could steal their focus from the mission that they carried within their hearts. The mission was simple: take God’s Word seriously by trusting Him to use them to make disciples of all nations through carrying the love and passion of the Father’s heart into every place they went…starting with St Petersburg, Russia.

The main aim of the trip to St Petersburg was not to see how many sessions or how much face time the team could get in with the churches in the area, but rather to go with open hearts, displaying Acts 2 living (a community of believers) at every chance given to them.

God met their expectations and then exceeded them by entrusting them with precious, deeper relationships…and amazing opportunities for them to encourage, love and challenge their brothers and sisters in Christ.

God faithfully gave them wonderful opportunities in St Petersburg, and the team had the opportunity to minister into a wonderful community of believers that Four12 has come to know and love, called Hope Church. God met their expectations here and then exceeded them by entrusting them with precious, deeper relationships with the saints, and amazing opportunities for them to encourage, love and challenge their brothers and sisters in Christ. They were given the opportunity to lead a (wild) worship evening, where they witnessed healings, prophecy and testimonies. It was an evening where God broke out and ministered His heart in the way that He wanted to, and through it, many lives were marked by His love and made aware of the reality of His Kingdom.

Another exciting opportunity for the team was being invited to host the church’s first student outreach evening. This particular church in St Petersburg has students from different nations in their church. The aim of the evening was to provide the students in the church with the opportunity to invite their friends to hear the Gospel. During the evening, three students (one from Iran, one from Pakistan, and another from a nation unknown to us) gave their hearts to Jesus. This was a massive victory for the church in St Petersburg, and ultimately for the Kingdom!

Join with us in asking our Father to bring many in Russia into His Kingdom of Light.
