Zimbabwe Relief

We know that the world we are living in is broken, and we see things falling apart because of sin. Poverty and famine will always be problems we face, yet still, we are called to look after our brothers and sisters in Christ – those who are in the church and are partnering with us in the gospel. Currently, our Four12 partners in Zimbabwe are facing a great crisis. Due to the economic situation and the drought, especially in the south, families are currently surviving on 1 meal a day. There has been no harvest this season and next year’s harvest will be dependent on their rainy season in November. The cost of food and fuel has increased by about 600 percent and is not readily available or accessible.

There is an opportunity for us as Partners to provide aid to the churches in Zimbabwe. In 2 Corinthians 8 and 9 and again in James 2, we are reminded that faith without deeds is dead. Looking at these Scriptures in context, we see Jesus and the apostles showing us God’s heart towards looking after the household of God and that giving is an expression of love. We are all part of the same body, and if one part of the body suffers we all suffer. How can we truly love God if we do not love His church? And how can we love His people when we see their need and do nothing to help? As we support our family in Zimbabwe during this difficult time, we have the opportunity to see the power of the gospel come through our giving.

Our hope is that, for the next year, we can send three trailers a month, with each trailer being able to feed 85 families

Sending money to Zimbabwe has certain difficulties, so instead, we as Four12 Partners will be sending trailers with a mix of rice, lentils and other high protein foods to be distributed to the Four12 churches in Harare and Masvingo. Our hope is that, for the next year, we can send three trailers a month, with each trailer being able to feed 85 families for the month. This will cost R14 000 in total (£732) and bring us to the total cost of around R500 000 (£27 000) for the year’s supply.

If you would like to be a part of helping our Zimbabwean family in this way, your contributions can be deposited into the bank account below using the reference Zimbabwe Relief.

Sending aid is not the only way to support these churches. We also need to pray for Zimbabwe, as we know God moves in power when we pray. We encourage you to keep praying for Africa at this time as we stand in the gap for our brothers and sisters in Christ.

We are all part of the same body, and if one part of the body suffers we all suffer.
