Down in Port Elizabeth, our brand new building is taking shape! After 12 years of meeting in hired venues, we bought a building last year, and continue to meet in a school hall until it’s ready for us to move into in a few months.
The building housed a restaurant on the ground floor, with corporate offices on the first floor. We’re using half of the first floor space for our admin team, with the other half almost fully hired out to local businesses, while work carries on at the ground floor to get the space ready for us to meet in. It does mean that we constantly hear the sound of drilling and hammering from below, but it’s music to our ears!
The church has been giving generously and gladly towards the building, and the rental income from businesses is also helping us cover our monthly bond. The building is placed on the corner of one of Port Elizabeth’s busiest roads, and we’re expecting growth to come from the increased visibility. It’s an exciting season for us as a church, and we’re dreaming big dreams for our city and beyond – for it to be used to make a massive splash for Jesus!
